Assam was a well-known place in ancient history. Long before in the time of epics. The state Assam was called by the name 'Kamarupa' or 'Pragjyotish' If you go down the history, the land of Assam got inhabited by the homo sapiens in about 2000 BC. The most distinctive feature of the climate of Assam is the bountiful rainfall between March and May.
