One of the oldest developed towns in Arunachal Pradesh (North-East India), Ziro is around 2000 metres above sea level. It is well-known for its picturesque surroundings and may soon be listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites to preserve the indigenous Aptani tribe.
Ziro has a warm and temperate climate; the average temperature is 15 degrees Cent. There are more rains in the summer than in the winters in Ziro.
The Landscape in this area is amazing and a credit to the careful tending by the Aptanis. There are layers of cultivation, paddy fields, bamboo groves enclosed by pine forests. The irrigated paddy fields are also used for fish farming ensuring high utility of agricultural land.
