If you are already in Vietnam, Da Nang is also accessible by train, bus and road. The best option depends on your budget, starting city and available travel time.
Da Nang International Airport is the nearest airport and the main entry point for international travellers. From India, connecting flights through Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City are common options. Direct flight availability depends on your departure city and travel dates.
After landing, you can reach central Da Nang by taxi or app-based cab in approximately 10–20 minutes, depending on traffic. My Khe Beach is around 6–7 km from the airport.
Da Nang Railway Station is approximately 2–3 km from the city centre. It lies on Vietnam's North–South Railway, which connects Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
From Hanoi: The train journey generally takes around 15–18 hours.
From Ho Chi Minh City: Trains generally take around 16–20 hours.
From Hue: Da Nang is around 100 km away, with a scenic train journey of approximately 2.5–3.5 hours.
Train travel is suitable for travellers who want to enjoy Vietnam's countryside and coastal scenery.
Da Nang has road connections to several popular destinations in central Vietnam. You can travel by private taxi, tourist bus or rented vehicle with a driver.
Hoi An to Da Nang: Approximately 30 km, taking 45–60 minutes.
Hue to Da Nang: Approximately 100 km, taking 2–3 hours.
Ba Na Hills to Da Nang: Approximately 25–35 km, depending on your starting point.
For a comfortable journey with luggage, a private transfer can be convenient. Buses are generally more economical.
If you are travelling from India, compare flights to Da Nang with flights to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City followed by a domestic connection. If your Vietnam itinerary includes Hue or Hoi An, travelling by road or train can help you cover multiple destinations without unnecessary flights.
