Kisama Naga Heritage Village,

Situated in the outskirts of Kohima, the Naga heritage village offers breathtaking scenic views to its visitors. Also known as Kisama village, this place is designated to preserve and promote the culture and traditions of the ancient lives of the different tribes of the Nagas. Representing the 16 tribes of the Nagas, each of the houses come with indigenous architectural design and concept with significance. These tribal houses are also known as "Morung or Youth Dormitory". This village was constructed by the government in order to keep alive the customs and values of the ancient tribes of the nagas. Every year in the first week of December, this village hosts one of the biggest festivals in North East i.e. The Hornbill Festival. First initiated by the government, this festival has acclaimed popularity not only among the Indians but foreigners as well.
