Overview
Ahmedabad is the largest city in and the Seventh largest urban mass in India. It is located near the banks of the Sabarmati River, 25 km from the capital of Gujarat. It is known as the 'Manchester of India' for the second-largest producer of cotton in India.
Ahmedabad city is situated on the banks of the Sabarmati River and in the northern region of Gujarat and the western region of India. The entire city of Ahmedabad is spread over 205 square kilometers, and its approximate altitude is 53 meters. It is located in a very dry and sandy area as the maximal portion of Ahmedabad is covered with sand. Whereas Ahmedabad stands as a desert area, it feels like an extreme kind of climate. Therefore, it is expedient to visit the city during winters, when the climatic conditions are pleasurable between October and March.
