Apart from rocky terrains, majestic waterfalls, and ancient caves, Meghalaya is blessed with unique flora and fauna. Explore the endangered wildlife at the Nokrek National Park which is located in the West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. Listed as UNESCO’s Biosphere Reserve, this national park in Meghalaya houses some of the last remaining Red Pandas. Apart from the red pandas, one can witness animals like Asian Elephant, Capped Langur, Clouded Leopard, Leopard Cat, Fishing-Cat, Golden Cat, Pangolin, Wild Buffalo, Python, Elephant, Serow, and Tiger. Other attractions of this national park include the Samsung River game reserve, the Nokrek Peak and Ronbang Dare Waterfalls. The Garo Hills also houses many natural limestone caves. The entire area of the park is mountainous and Nokrek, at a height of 1,4132 m, is the highest peak in the Garo Hills.
