How to Reach Gulmarg

Airways – Gulmarg lies at a distance of only 56 km away from Srinagar, which happens to be the prominent airport in the region.

By Rail – Jammu is the closest railway station from Gulmarg. Several trains from all parts of this country arrive at this station.

By Road - Gulmarg is connected with an efficient and smooth network of roads, even though being a hilly zone of India. The major centers for moving are en route Srinagar.

Skiing: If Gulmarg deserves its place in the sun, it is because of Skiing, its gentle slopes are perfect for the beginners. Adventure buffs have an additional option of skiing down from the gondola car at Kondor. For Ski enthusiasts, there is a wealth of ski gear on hire and if you need to get hauled to the Ski tops do add an extra penny of Rs 500 in order to get a true feel there.

Golf: Oh ... there is a touch of royalty at that altitude. Gulmarg has two of the highest golf venues in the world. It was the locus for state championship until 1990. You can have a game of golf at the golf club here.

Treks: Gulmarg`s highest peak, Affarwat that lies to the west is a feast for the trekkers. Walk and walk on the snow to learn more about Gulmarg.

Pilgrimage Point: Maharani Temple is a distinguished Hindu temple in the lap of Gulmarg. The sight might ring familiar to many as the temple has often been pictured in our Hindi movies. The temple was built by Mohini Bai Sisodia, the wife of the King Maharaja Hari Singh of the erstwhile kingdom of Jammu and Kashmir, during the 20th century. The temple is also famous by the name of Mohineshwar Shivalalaya and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Maharani temple is located on pristine surroundings on a small hillock in the center of the Gulmarg hill station. The temple premises offer its visitors an aura for meditation and prayer.

Gondola: A pretty scenic boondock in the heart of Gulmarg, Gondola’s fame stems from its excellent, awesome surroundings. Cemented with the sequestered charm of un-discovered quaintness, Gondola is popular for its Gondola lift. The gondola lift is a cable car service operating between Gondola — Kongdoor.

Hi,

There is Taxi Service from TRC(Tourist Reception Centre) to Gulmarg, The Climate is cool and you need to carry winter wear with you. There are JKTDC Guest Houses, and Nathus Hotel and Resturants where you can enjoy the luxurious facilities..!!

Hi Jai,

You can hire a taxi from Gulmarg which will take you about 2 hours to reach.Climate will be bit cold. we suggest you to take some woolen clothes with you. There are many hotels in Gulmarg you can also book the hotel in advance from Kiomoi.

The climate in Gulmarg and in Phalgam in the month of March it will be cold in both Places . And the intresting places in Gilmarg is Khalan Marg only . And in Phalgam there are few Places to see like ludder Village , Chaldanwadi and few more places .

Hi,

Train is the safer and faster way to reach jammu, and from there you can get Bus/Taxi for srinagar and from there you can avail taxi upto gulmarg on day booking basis, Gulmarg itself has many attractions like glaciers on its upper areas and you can catch upto glaciers by cable car (gandola).

Hi,

From from Mumbai to Srinagar you can take direct Flight to Srinagar Airport and from airport he can get a car to Gulmarg . Or you can do onemore thing that is from mumbai to jammu you can take train and from jammu to Gulmarg youcan get the car in jammu . And in Gulmarg there are few points to see and this time when you will see lot of snow .
