Itinerary
Day 1: Guwahati Arrival
Welcome on arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. After greetings, we will take you to Guwahati Hotel. Upon arrival check-in & Overnight stay.
Day 2: Guwahati - Bomdila (272 Kms / 8-9 Hrs.)
After breakfast check-out from hotel & proceed to Bomdila, inhabited by tribes like Aka (Hrusso), Miji (Sajalong), Monpa, Sherdukpen, and Khawas. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel & stay overnight.
Day 3: Bomdila - Tawang (175 Kms / 6-7 Hrs.)
After healthy breakfast, start your journey towards Tawang. While on the way to Tawang, you would be passing through the scenic Sela Pass, the only way that connects Tawang district of the state to the rest of the country. Besides its geographical importance Sela Pass is breathtaking place always covered in snow providing some beautiful views of the eastern Himalayan range. Also visit Paradise Lake & Jaswant Garh which is a memorial built to commemorate the bravery of late Jaswant Singh Rawat. Upon arrival at Tawang, check-in to your hotel/homestay & stay overnight.
Day 4: Tawang - PTSO Lake - Madhuri Lake - Bum La Pass - Tawang (Optional)
Post breakfast, start your day with a breathtaking view of Shonga-tser Lake (Madhuri Lake), surrounded by snow-capped mountains and the valley offer a spectacular view. Next move on to Bum La Pass about 37 km away from Tawang, it is the indo-china border that lies at 15,200 ft above sea level. On your way back stop by heart lake, PTSO lake, Naghula lake, which will surely make your day. After this return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay in Tawang. ( Madhuri Lake & Bumla Pass tour could be done on additional cost).
Day 5: Tawang – Dirang
Post breakfast; proceed to Dirang small hill station in west Kameng district. Its spectacular landscape and beauteous nature will surely please your eyes and comfort your body and soul. We will visit Kalachakra Gompa also refered as Dirang Monastery and perceive the serene land. Witness Kiwi Orchids, then to Dirang Dzong (fort) which is about 150 years old and have an excellent view of the surrounding. Overnight stay at Dirang Camp/Homstay..
Day 6: Dirang – Kaziranga
After breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Kaziranga. Kaziranga National Park is a protected area in the northeast Indian state of Assam. Spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, its forests, wetlands, and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants, and the world’s largest population of Indian one- horned rhinoceroses. Upon arrival check in to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy the cultural program at Kaziranga National Park. Later return to the hotel and overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 7: Kaziranga – Shillong (280 Kms/6 Hrs.)
Early morning (5:30 am) explore Western Range of Kaziranga National Park on Elephant Safari then explore the Central range on a jeep safari, then back to hotel. After breakfast, check-out from the hotel & start your journey to Shillong. also called the Scotland of the East. While traveling us see the majestic Umiam Lake (Barapani) surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines and the azure blue skies. Upon arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel. In the Evening, you can visit the famous Police Bazar. Overnight stay in the hotel at Shillong.
Day 8: Shillong – Dawki - Mawlynnong – Cherrapunjee
Today early morning, start your road journey to the border town of Dawki, (En-route visit, Shillong Peak &Elephant Falls, named after an Elephant-like stone at its foot, the Elephant Falls are amongst the most popular falls in the North-East.) a hidden paradise. The driver will keep getting you closer and closer to the Bangladesh plains which you had first spotted from Mawlynnong Village. Umngot River in Dawki is crystal clear & is considered one the cleanest rivers in India. You can enjoy a boat ride in the river. Then after proceed to Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong was awarded the prestigious tag of Cleanest Village in Asia in 2003. Visit Root Bridge & Bamboo Bridge. After Mawlynnong, you will start your journey to Cherrapunjee, with lush green mountains viewing numerous waterfalls falling all over on route to Cherapunjeee. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 9: Cherrapunjee - Nongriat Trek (Double Decker Root Bridge) - Cherrapunjee
Early morning (6 AM) your journey to Double Decker Root Bridge, deep in the dense tropical forest Meghalaya is a must-visit destination known for its numerous waterfalls. It's a 3000 step journey (Trek) down the hill and the trek starts from Tyrna Village (10 Kms from Sohra, Cherrapunjee). Start the trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat) with the local guide (guide cost excluded). The approx. The time to complete the journey (both ways) is 5-6 Hrs. Later on, you can also extend your hike to Rainbow Falls (60 minutes hike from Nongriat). Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee. OR Cherrapunjee Excursion After breakfast, get ready to explore Cherrapunjee. Visit Seven Sisters Waterfall, Eco Park, NohKaLikai Falls, Arwah Cave, Wah-Kaba Falls & Garden of Caves. In the evening, return to your hotel/homestay and enjoy the beautiful evening. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
Day 10: Cherrapunjee – Guwahati Departure
Early morning check-out from hotel & proceed to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your departure. Your arrival at the airport will mark the end of the tour. Tour concludes with everlasting memories of Meghalaya& Assam.
