The next half of your trip reveals the unspoiled beauty of Lachen and Lachung, tucked away in the heart of Himalayan nature. Travel to Thangu via scenic landscape to see the breathtaking Gurudongmar Lake, a sparkling heaven situated between snow-capped mountains. Beautifully called the "Valley of Flowers," Yumthang Valley attracts with its colourful flowers, while Zero Point offers a chance for the adventurous to reach the heavens.

Head back to Gangtok and continue to the peaceful villages of Namchi and Ravangla, where peace and spirituality combine with beautiful tea plantations and magnificent monastery buildings. The route next goes to Pelling, a charming town with breathtaking views of the Himalayas, where you may spend a half-day exploring before continuing to Darjeeling, the well-known hill station.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bagdogra /NJP – Gangtok (120 Kms/4 Hrs.)

Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway the station, after greetings proceed to Gangtok, at an altitude of 5500ft Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim is a beautiful and clean town promising of the best monasteries and landscapes. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel later you could explore the famous MG Marg (on your own). Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 2: Gangtok | Tsomgo Lake | Baba Mandir | Nathu-La Pass (Optional)

After breakfast in the morning, you will leave for a visit to the famous Tsomgo Lake. Shaped like an oval, the lake is located 40 km away from the city of Gangtok and has an elevation of about 3,780 m above sea level. Apart from its breathtaking scenic beauty, the lake is also famous for housing the Brahminy Ducks and many other migratory birds. Following this will be a visit to the shrine of the famous Baba Harbhajan Singh, a war hero. The shrine is popularly called the Baba Mandir. Nathu-la Pass to the Republic of China is nearly 20 Kms and is an optional tour (Strictly subject to availability).

Day 3: Enjoy the panoramic view on your drive from Gangtok to Lachen

On this day, you will leave the city of Gangtok and head to the beautiful valley of Lachen. After a sumptuous, heavy breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Lachen (altitude 8800 feet/ 6 hours). On the way, you will visit the beautiful destinations of Seven Sisters WaterFalls, Singhik Viewpoint, and Naga Waterfalls. Do stop on this highway for ‘Sikkimese’ lunch. The main attractions of Lachen are the snow-capped peaks, Shingbha Wildlife Sanctuary, Gurudongmar Lake, Chopta Valley, and Thangu. Reach Lachen by evening. After an overnight at Lachen, you will be traveling to your next destination

Day 4: Lachen – Thangu – Gurudongmar Lake– Lachung

Start the day early with a lip-smacking breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to Gurudongmar Lake and spend a beautiful time here by the lake amidst the lush green trees After an unwinding session here, drive through Thangu valley and get back to the Hotel for lunch. After a delicious lunch at the hotel, our representative will take you to a hotel at Lachung, driving through Chopta Valley. There is a valley here through which a River called Lachen Chu flows. It is known as the Holy Lake and is covered in snow for 9 months, or more. We drive through a cold desert until we reach the Tibet-China border. Upon arrival, you may visit Lachung Monastery. You will spend the night at your hotel. Sip some hot tea and release the stress as you prep yourself for more adventure.

Day 5: Lachung to Yumthang Excursion, Zero Point (Optional) & then a driver back to Gangtok

Post early morning breakfast, proceed to Yumthang Valley, which is known as the Valley of Flowers (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts / 25 Kms / 1-2 hours one way) and Zero points, further up and about 23kms from Yumthang at an altitude of over 15,000 ft is the place Zero Point (also known as Yume Samdong). On the way back, visit Hot Springs considered to have medicinal properties. Have lunch & move to Gangtok overnight stay Gangtok. .

Day 6: Gangtok - Pelling via Ravangla & Namchi

After a wholesome breakfast, we will start the journey to Namchi, considered the cultural capital of Sikkim. Visit Samdruptse & Siddheshwar Dham (Chardham), the complex has a 108 feet tall statue of Shiva, replicas of 12 Jyotirlingas, models of sacred Char Dham Hindu Temples of Jagannath, Badrinath, Dwaraka and Rameswaram and a 17-feet statue of Kirateshwar a hunter incarnation of Shiva. Then, we will proceed to Ravangla. Upon arrival, visit Buddha Park & Buddha statue (130 ft high statue of Buddha). Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong (Ravangla) in South Sikkim district, Sikkim, India. It was constructed between 2006 and 2013 and features a 130-foot (40 m) high statue of the Buddha as its centerpiece. Later, we will head to Pelling, The town is adorned with monasteries and nature's mystique. The sight of Himalayan peaks from this town is unforgettable. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Pelling

Day 7: Pelling-Half Day Sightseeing & transfer to Darjeeling

After a delicious breakfast in the hotel, get ready for Pelling Sightseeing. where you will be covering attractions like Rimbi waterfalls, Sky-Walk, Rimbi Orange Garden Kanchenjunga waterFalls, OR Khecheopalri Lake (a sacred lake and a pilgrimage center for all faiths) which is also known as the wish-fulfilling lake. After lunch, start your journey to Darjeeling. All the way, you will be accompanied by the magical beauty of the Himalayas and the beautiful views of the valleys. Do not forget to click pictures of the amazing snow-covered peaks and the green hills. Reach Darjeeling and check-in to the hotel, where you will have the evening free to spend on your leisure. You can explore (on your own) the absolute delight of the mall road in Darjeeling.

Day 8: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early morning at around 3:45 AM drive to 8000 feet / 2440 meters through primitive forests of oak, magnolia to Tiger Hill to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather) – On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Peace memorial & Batasia Loop – Back to hotel for breakfast - After breakfast next round of sightseeing - Half Day city tour includes Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tenzing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (Sunday Closed), Peace Pagoda – Back to hotel – Evening free to stroll around the area - Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 9: Departure

After breakfast check out and transfer for bagdogra/NJPdrop at aiport with sweet memories
